City plans for rebuilding part of Bancroft Street in the Old West End will be the subject of a public meeting today at a neighborhood church.

Officials will discuss the street’s condition and traffic history in the section between Ashland and Glenwood avenues, the project's budget, and details concerning right-of-way and utilities during the 6 p.m. meeting at Collingwood Presbyterian Church, 2108 Collingwood Blvd.

The Division of Engineering Services will solicit input on the street's number of lanes, inclusion of parking or bike lanes, pavement width, and the location of sidewalks, utilities, curbs, and trees.

Because the project will be federally funded, its impact on the Old West End historic district must be reviewed, the Bell administration said.

City officials have not released a construction schedule.
