Several downtown Toledo streets will be closed Saturday during the Color Run, and the Birmingham Festival in East Toledo also will require street closings, the city transportation division announced.

Starting at 7:30 a.m., Summit Street will be closed between Jackson Street and Jefferson Avenue; southbound Huron, Superior, and St. Clair streets will be closed at Jackson; and eastbound Monroe, Adams, and Jackson streets and Jefferson and Madison avenues will be closed at Erie Street.

Motorists will encounter brief delays on other streets on the south side of downtown during the event, for which the first wave of runners is scheduled to leave Promenade Park at 8 a.m. The race course circles through downtown and the Warehouse District down to Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza on Emerald Avenue.

In East Toledo, Consaul Street will be closed starting at 7 a.m. Saturday through 10 p.m. Sunday between Front and Woodford streets for the festival. Numerous nearby streets also will be closed, and on-street parking will be forbidden, during the event. Affected streets include all or parts of Bakewell, Bogar, Burr, Esther, Magyar, Burger, Caledonia, and Genesee streets and Milford Avenue.
