ERIE, Mich. — A restoration project involving 66 acres of wetlands at Dusseau Tract in Erie is complete, according to representatives for U.S. Rep. John Dingell (D., Dearborn) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The site is in Monroe County, six miles north of the Ohio border. It is part of the Erie State Game Area along Bay Creek Road in Erie Township.

The project complements broader wildlife-habitat and flood-control efforts undertaken along the U.S. and Canadian side of the Detroit River and Lake Erie’s western basin.

Officials agreed last weekend to expand efforts to include more than 13,000 acres along the river and Lake Erie’s western shore.
