The Women of Courage Tea, expected to draw about 250 people, will be held as scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Manor House in Wildwood Preserve.

Because of construction at the Manor House, the teas for October and November have been canceled.

The Manor House will be closed during an extensive renovation project at the landmark mansion, acquired nearly 40 years ago by the Metroparks of the Toledo Area. Replacement of the roof and detailed repair work on nearly 100 windows mean the former home of industrialist Robert Stranahan will be off limits to visitors, events, and wedding receptions for the next three months, with the exception of the Women of Courage Tea later this week. Sponsored by the Manor House volunteers, the teas raise funds for the Manor House.

The renovation work is on a tight schedule for completion before late November in time for Holidays in the Manor House, which attracts up to 20,000 people annually.
