United Way of Greater Toledo will kick off its 95th campaign Thursday with the largest Days of Caring in the organization’s history.

After the 7:30 a.m. event at Parkway Place, 2592 Parkway Plaza in Maumee, more than 2,500 volunteers will work in a central Toledo neighborhood, a 10 block by four block area of the Junction Avenue corridor. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, volunteers will work on more than 400 projects, including landscaping, painting houses, and murals.

The kickoff event includes best-selling author, humorist, and university professor Debbie Silver, who will discuss “The Art and Heart of Education.”

Projects also will take place Thursday in Wood County and Friday in Ottawa County.
