After a 90-minute funeral service, a small white casket holding the remains of Elaina Steinfurth was loaded into the back of a white hearse.

The casket, which had Elaina's photo printed on the lid, was carried by four men -- her father, Terry Steinfurth, Jr., her grandfather, Terry Steinfurth, Sr., an uncle and an unidentified man.

Elaina was 18 months old when she was reported missing from a Federal Street home in East Toledo on June 2. Despite numerous searches by police and volunteers, the remains were not found until Sept. 5 in an unattached garage behind the Federal Street home where she was last seen.

How the girl, whose remains were found in a computer box, died is still unclear as autopsy results are pending additional tests.

Elaina will be buried today at the Lake Township Cemetery on Walbridge Road.

Three women were sitting in a parking lot along the funeral processional route holding balloons they said they would release as the funeral passed.

"I just felt compelled," said Sandy Kincaid, who was there with her daughter, Rayvonna Kincaid and Rayvonna's aid Tiffany Jarosz, of Rossford.

"I wanted them to know they have our support," Sandy Kincaid said.

Elaina's mother, Angela Steinfurth, and the mother's ex-boyfriend Steven King, II, are being held in the Lucas County jail for obstructing justice.

Toledo police allege the two lied during the investigation.
