Law Director Moan to retire at end of year

Sylvania Law Director Jim Moan plans to retire at year-end.

Mr. Moan, who has held the part-time position 17 years, informed Sylvania City Council during a recent meeting.

Leslie Brinning, a lawyer at Lydy & Moan — the law firm Mr. Moan co-owns — is expected to succeed him.

As law director, she will be paid $90,000 a year and the post will become full-time. Mr. Moan was paid $98,567 annually and received $150.86 an hour for any work beyond 55 hours a month.
