A former city worker accused of violating a protection order and assaulting his estranged wife was found guilty Wednesday of a misdemeanor charge of violating a protection order.

Charles King, 36, entered an Alford plea to the charge, meaning he did not admit committing the crime, but acknowledged evidence was sufficient for a conviction. Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Myron Duhart scheduled sentencing for Dec. 3.

On Oct. 1, Mr. King was acquitted on a separate charge of domestic violence by a jury in Toledo Municipal Court. He was fired from his job with the city’s Department of Streets, Bridges, and Harbor after his arrest.
