The death of Jacob Limberios, a Castalia teenager who died of a gunshot wound to the head in March, 2012, will be the topic of a two-day series on the Dr. Phil show this week.

Television host Phil McGraw is devoting his Thursday and Friday shows to the case, which the Ohio Attorney General’s Office investigated and has convened a grand jury to review.

The 19-year-old’s parents Michael and Shannon Limberios have pressed for answers in a case that was ruled a suicide by Sandusky County Coroner Dr. John Wukie, who noted the deceased might not have realized the gun was loaded.

His parents hired forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht of Pittsburgh to perform the first autopsy, and Dr. Wecht indicated the case should be considered a homicide.

Later, a second autopsy performed by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office released findings “not inconsistent” with the initial suicide determination.

Witnesses to the shooting have maintained Jacob Limberios shot himself. Two witnesses -- William Lewis and Brittany Bowers -- are to appear on the show alongside the parents.

The description of Thursday’s show indicates Michael Limberios takes the television cameras to the scene of the shooting to show why he believes someone else shot his son, according to the Dr. Phil Web site. The two witnesses also will meet with the teen’s parents on stage “in an attempt to clear the cloud of suspicion that they say still follows them as a result of Mike and Shannon’s allegations,” the show’s Web site states.

Friday’s show includes a satellite interview with Dr. Wecht, and polygraph testing of the two witnesses.

The Dr. Phil show airs locally at 4 p.m. on WTOL 11.
