2 injured in downtown
shop when lift collapses

Two workers at a near downtown vehicle repair shop were injured Tuesday when a hydraulic lift holding a truck collapsed.

The incident was reported about 4:05 p.m. at L&K Auto & Truck Service Inc., 1811 Jefferson Ave.

One man was out from under the truck when firefighters arrived, said battalion Chief Christine Davis. Workers at the shop were using another hydraulic device to lift the truck, and firefighters assisted to free the other man.

Both were taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Their names and conditions were not released.
