SANDUSKY -- The Millsite Trout & Gun Club went up for auction today, but not a single potential buyer made an offer that met the minimum bid of $600,000 in the court ordered bankruptcy sale.

The property, which contains 3,800 feet of Cold Creek trout stream, remains in limbo. The receiver is considering an offer that was less than the minimum, according to Michael Murray, who is handling the sale for the Pamela K. Rose Auction Co. of Maumee.

While the bid is being reviewed, Murray declined to put a figure on the offer or name the bidder.

Millsite was previously owned by Owens-Illinois and used as a corporate retreat, but most recently it was in the hands of developer Larry Dillin.

The property, which sits southwest of here and several miles from the village of Castalia, is a little more than 20 acres, with much of that the trout stream and its access. There is also a 1920’s era lodge, which has a large meeting room, a commercial kitchen, and five bedrooms. The parcel also includes a 19th century, six-bedroom farmhouse with modern utilities.
