Traffic signals were placed in service Tuesday morning at the top of the eastbound I-475 exit to Corey Road in Sylvania Township, marking substantial completion of a $1.4 million Ohio Department of Transportation project to ease congestion near the Corey and Talmadge Road interchanges.

Turn lanes were added to the Corey exit and to Corey and Whiteford roads at Sylvania Avenue, while the westbound I-475 exit ramp at Talmadge was lengthened. The work was intended to improve traffic flow and reduce the risk of backups onto the freeway, which historically have been worst during the Christmas shopping season.
