Lenawee County Historical Society is seeking donations
12/9/2013The Lenawee County Historical Society seeks donations to maintain the collections in its museum and for operations.
The board of directors has decided to replace the air conditioning system and controls at a cost of almost $50,000 and is exploring other needed upgrades, such as a more efficient boiler, an elevator replacement, remodeled bathrooms, and a new roof. A consultant has been engaged to assess the building’s needs and recommend priorities.
The historical society and museum is run entirely by volunteers and receives no taxpayer support. It relies on donations and memberships to cover the $40,000 cost of keeping the museum open at 110 E. Church St.
