Republic to perform Lake Twp. trash, collection services
12/16/2013Republic Services will Lake Township’s garbage and recycling collector, starting Jan. 1, under a three-year contract approved by the trustees.
The first collection of garbage and recyclables is set for Jan. 6 in the southern part of the township and Jan. 13 in the northern part. Households will receive a letter explaining what part of the township they are in and a pickup calendar.
Garbage collection will be weekly, and recyclables will be picked up every two weeks. Residents with special requests or who need a 96-gallon can should call Republic at 800-234-3429.
The monthly cost per household is $12.93. Residents will receive a quarterly bill next month. Republic Services, which submitted the lowest bid, replaces Waste Management.
