A Genoa man was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after his pickup struck a tree and then crashed into a house early Saturday.

Jesse Molina, Jr., 36, was westbound on State Rt. 163 west of Bradner Road in Wood County’s Lake Township just after 3 a.m. when the vehicle went off the north side of the road. The Ohio Highway Patrol said the pickup then struck a tree, spun, and struck a house. None of the occupants were injured.

Troopers said Mr. Molina, who was cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to maintain reasonable control, was taken to Mercy St. Charles Hospital.

The hospital had no information about a patient by that name later in the day.
