Toledo man convicted of raping young girl

A Toledo man accused of raping a young girl was found guilty Thursday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court after a four-day jury trial.

Hugo Ramallo, 48, of 327 Swift Ave. was convicted of four counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition for the incidents, which occurred between September, 2011, and August, 2012, when the victim was 7 and 8. Both the young victim and Ramallo took the stand during the trial.

After the verdicts were read at 3 p.m., Judge Gary Cook ordered that Ramallo’s bond be revoked and that he be held in the Lucas County jail without bond until sentencing Jan. 27.
