Volunteers to conduct yearly homeless count
1/27/2014The Toledo-Lucas County Continuum of Care will conduct its yearly homeless count this week.
The count will take place from 10 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday. Volunteers working in teams will try to find homeless people without shelter and refer them to immediate services.
Volunteers also will collect information and hand out donations during business hours, or from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., at locations throughout Toledo.
Those sites include Helping Hands of St. Louis, Martin Luther King Kitchen for the Poor, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Veterans’ Service Commission, St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, the United Way of Greater Toledo, and Cherry Street Mission Ministries’ Madison Food Service.
