Whitmer HIgh School, Washington Local Schools honor fallen Toledo firefighters

Patrick Hickey, left, Washington Local Schools superintendent leads a ceremony in honor of fallen Toledo Firefighters James Dickman and Stephen Machcinski at Friday's Whitmer basketball game against Lima Senior. With Mr. Hickey, from left, are Toledo Acting Deputy Chief Rick Syroka, Lima Fire Department Investigator Christopher Jackson, Toledo Fire Department Lt. Daniel O'Leary, Firefighter John Martin, and Firefighter Pat Murphy. A flag in the Whitmer Field House was dedicated to Pvt. Machcinski, a 1989 Whitmer graduate. Hickey also presented a check of money raised from the Washington Local community, with a contribution from Lima, to acting Deputy Syroka for the Dickman family.
