HURON, Ohio — An ice jam along the Huron River near Milan threatened flooding upstream there and in neighboring Norwalk overnight and today.

A National Weather Service flood warning for the Huron was one of several such warnings the agency issued or extended Friday, a day after thunderstorms and warm temperatures combined to melt snow.

The Huron was jammed with ice north of the U.S. 250 bridge near Milan. The Sandusky River had an ice jam near Fremont that was flooding parts of Sandusky and Seneca counties.

Minor flooding also was occurring or forecast for the Portage River; the Sandusky near Tiffin; the Maumee River in the Waterville area, and the Blanchard in the Findlay area.
