Drug, alcohol abuse to be discussed March 26

The Sylvania Community Action Team presents “A Town Hall Parent Series” to increase awareness about drug and alcohol abuse among area youth. It will also teach parents how they can prevent drug use in their homes.

Moderated by Chrys Peterson, the first meeting will discuss heroin and prescription drug abuse.

It is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. March 26 at the Sylvania Senior Center, 7140 Sylvania Ave.

A panel of experts, including the Sylvania Township fire chief and police chief and representatives from ProMedica Flower Hospital, will share firsthand accounts on combating substance abuse. The event is free.
