Ohio tax credits spur new jobs
5 regional firms to create 232 positions, $11.6M in payroll
3/31/2014COLUMBUS — The Ohio Tax Credit Authority on Monday approved tax credits for five northwest Ohio companies, including three Toledo-area companies, that will use the assistance on projects expected to create 232 new jobs with a combined annual payroll of $11.6 million.
The state said they were among 15 companies receiving tax credits that will help create 664 jobs and retain 2,012 jobs statewide.
● Matrix Technologies Inc. of Maumee will get a 50 percent, six-year tax credit to help expand its Maumee operations and create 75 new jobs with a payroll of $4.88 million. Matrix Technologies provides integrated process control and factory automation systems.
● Allermuir USA of Monclova Township was approved for a 55 percent, eight-year tax credit to help construct a new facility to house manufacturing and administration operations that will create 56 new jobs with a payroll of $2.9 million. Allermuir makes high-quality, contemporary seating and tables for the contract market.
● Just Packaging Inc. of Toledo is to receive a 40 percent, seven-year tax credit to acquire and renovate it existing facility and obtain new machinery and equipment. The renovation would create 30 new jobs with a payroll of $936,000. The company makes and distributes custom corrugated packaging, interior packaging foam, chipboard partitions, and more.
● In Wyandot County, Continental Structural Plastics Inc. will get a 50 percent, six-year tax credit to expand its operations in Carey and create 50 jobs with a payroll of $1.6 million.
● In Hancock County, Tour de Force CRM Inc. will receive a 50 percent, six-year tax credit to expand operations in Findlay and create 21 jobs with a payroll of $1.3 million.
