Toledo Mud Hens fans attending games during an eight-game home stand that starts today can assist a local organization that helps feed the hungry by bringing nonperishable food items to the game.

At those games boxes will be at all entrances to collect donations for Food for Thought. The Oregon-based nonprofit group operates a mobile pantry that delivers nonperishable food to people who don’t have ready access to a neighborhood pantry.

The food drive is sponsored by Fifth Third Bank of Northwest Ohio and the Mud Hens.

The Hens will play the Durham Bulls at Fifth Third Field today through Thursday, all evening games except for a 10:30 a.m. start Wednesday, followed by a four-game series against the Charlotte Knights, all of which are evening games.
