About 1,280 Toledo Edison customers were left without power in Toledo today when a customer inadvertently cut a power line while cutting a tree, a utility spokesman said.

The incident occurred about 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Peck Street and Cherry Street near downtown. There were no reports of injuries, city officials said.

Utility crews restored power to most of the affected customers this morning.  The remaining 169 customers had their power restored later today.

Those left without power were in the general area of the incident, the spokesman said.
