19-year-old indicted in shooting of 2 toddlers

A Toledo man was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Friday on charges stemming from a 2013 shooting that injured two toddlers in a North Toledo parking lot.

Tyler Jones, 19, of 2719 Brentwood Ave. was charged with felonious assault with a firearm specification and carrying a concealed weapon for the May 1, 2013, shootout at the Greenbelt Place Apartments. During the incident, a 1-year-old and a 2-year-old were struck with bullet fragments.

Last week, prosecutors dropped murder and felonious assault charges from another incident against Jones because of evidentiary concerns. Those charges stemmed from the May 25 slaying of Sheymarr Noble, 22. No new arrests have been made in the case.
