A Sylvania Township man was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison for robbing a local convenience store.

Brandon Goss, 28, of 5878 Artwell Dr. pleaded guilty May 20 to aggravated robbery for holding up the In & Out Mart, 5830 Douglas Rd., on Feb. 24.

His attorney, Timothy Braun, told Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Frederick McDonald that Goss, who has robbery charges pending in Monroe County, had become addicted to heroin and robbed the store to get money for drugs. An unrelated charge of burglary was dismissed as part of the plea agreement in Lucas County.
