The family of a missing Ypsilanti man believed to have been murdered in Toledo has organized a search for his body.

Michele Flynn, the cousin of Brian Martin, 52, who disappeared in Toledo June 22, has asked volunteers to join the search at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. The search will be coordinated from the VFW Post 4906, 2161 Consaul St.

Police have charged Robert and Desirae Strauss, both 36, of 2140 Consaul St., with murder. They believe the couple bludgeoned Mr. Martin to death in their first-floor apartment inside a red-brick duplex at 2140 Consaul St. on June 22.

Mr. Martin‘‍s body has not been found, but police believe the body may be in a barn or shed somewhere between Toledo and Anderson, Ind.. They have asked for the public’‍s help in searching.

“We are looking for as many volunteers as possible to come out and help us,” Mr. Martin‘‍s cousin said in an email appeal for help.

The family also has created a Facebook page “Help find Brian Martin” to assist with the search.
