Funeral arrangements have been announced for Tyler McIntoush, 16, the rising Toledo Maritime Academy junior who was shot to death early Thursday in the Old West End.

The funeral will begin 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rock of Praise Church, 1632 N. Cove Blvd., preceded at 10 a.m. by a wake.

Young McIntoush’s body was found in front of 2957 Collingwood Blvd. after 3 a.m. Thursday. About 20 minutes earlier people in the neighborhood reported hearing gunfire, but nobody had called police. He had wounds to the head and leg. The case is being investigated as a homicide.

He is survived by his mother, Oleen Clinton; father, Josh McIntoush; brothers, Timothy McIntoush and Robert Robinson; sisters, Sierra Griswold, Tosha McIntoush, and Talanna Reid; grandmother, Denise McIntoush-Griffin, and grandfather, Richard Clinton.

Separate from the funeral, the Maritime Academy will hold a public vigil for Tyler at 8 p.m. Monday on the school’s front lawn. The vigil was originally scheduled for today, but postponed because of the potential for severe weather. The school requests that people attending wear pink, Tyler’s favorite color.
