Construction on Residents of Harbor Town Place is scheduled to be completed in March.

The 69-unit senior citizen housing development at Harbor Town Place under construction now should be completed at the end of March, which will allow tenants to move in early next summer.

The development, called Residence at Harbor Town Place, will have one- and two-bedroom apartments for people who are 55 and older. Harbor Town Place is on Dixie Highway between Roachton and Five Point roads. Applications for residency will be available later this year.

Perrysburg city council approved the subsidized senior housing project with a 4-3 vote in February 2013.

Miller-Valentine developers, of Cincinnati, is building the $13 million to $14 million three-story project. The two-bedroom units will rent for a maximum of $650 a month and one-bedroom units will rent for a maximum of $575 a month.

Amenities will include on-site management, a fitness center, laundry facility, and an activity and recreation center. WSOS Community Action Agency, Wood County Commission on Aging and the Perrysburg Senior Center will provide services for senior citizens in the development too. That could include curb-to-curb transportation and home-delivered meals.

“We‘‍re excited it is going to be a nice facility and affordable housing for seniors in Perrysburg,” said Don Corley, housing development coordinator for WSOS.
