A Toledo woman convicted of filing false claims for income-tax refunds was sentenced Wednesday to five months in prison.

U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Helmick also ordered that LaJuana Batey, 37, pay $28,682 in restitution.

Batey was convicted by a jury in March of conspiracy and five counts of filing false claims for federal income tax refunds. She and three others were indicted and convicted for submitting the false returns between 2009 and 2011 and sharing the proceeds.
