WAUSEON — A Swanton couple who used a stolen Fulton County credit card to make personal purchases were placed on community control for two years and ordered to pay $9,936 in restitution to the county.

Michael J. Smith, 31, and his wife, Ashley Smith, 27, each pleaded guilty May 27 to receiving stolen property and misuse of credit cards for using the stolen credit card between May and December, 2013, while working as Fulton County EMS drivers.

At the couple’s sentencing Thursday, Fulton County Common Pleas Judge James Barber also ordered that they serve 14 days at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, stay out of bars, complete drug and alcohol treatment, and abide by an 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew. Two additional counts were dismissed.
