Toledo man, 20, charged with friend’s stabbing

A Toledo man charged with stabbing his friend to death was indicted on murder charges Thursday by a Lucas County grand jury.

Tyler Garn, 20, of 1019 Hawk St. was indicted on alternate counts of murder and one count of tampering with evidence stemming from the Aug. 3 death of Aaron Hummer, 21, at 3633 Almeda Dr.

An autopsy concluded that Mr. Hummer was stabbed twice in the chest and had several defensive wounds on his hands and right arm, indicating a possible struggle with his assailant. Mr. Garn is being held in the Lucas County jail on a $1 million bond.
