Two local animal rescues are cooperating in an adoption special for overlooked pets.

Today through Sunday, the Toledo Area Humane Society and Planned Pethood will offer reduced adoption fees for black animals, those who need to be the only pet in a household, senior and special-needs pets, and animals who have been in a shelter or foster care for a long time.

Kittens who fit the criteria will be $30 each or two for $50, while adult cats will be $20 or two for $35. Pocket pets like rabbits and guinea pigs at the humane society will be half off.

Felines and pocket pets for the Toledo Area Humane Society are available at 1920 Indian Wood Circle in Maumee. More cats and kittens included in this promotion are at the rescue’s off-site locations including the ReTail Shop at 2036 S. Byrne Road in Toledo, Petco Bowling Green, and Petsmart in Rossford.

Planned Pethood adoption events are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Petsmart in Spring Meadows.
