Actress and Toledo area native Katie Holmes will be one of three judges for the third annual Maumee Film Festival Sept. 23 at the Maumee Indoor Theater.
Ms. Holmes, a Notre Dame Academy graduate, has performed in several film and television projects, including Batman Begins and “The Kennedys: After Camelot.”
"I am so proud to support the Maumee Film Festival because it is a wonderful event that will showcase filmmakers whose voices and visions I am excited to see," Ms. Holmes said in a written statement.
It is not known if Ms. Holmes will be able to attend the festival due to her schedule, but she has agreed to screen the films.
Her sister, Tamera Fretti, and actor Robert Knepper also will be judging. Mr Knepper, a Maumee native, is best known for his role as "T-Bag" on Prison Break. He’ll be judging for the third year in a row.
The festival includes an Open Short film challenge and a Project-4 film challenge, where filmmakers are given four days to shoot and edit their creation.
