The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department will offer a food-safety training class in Spanish.
The Level 1 Food Safety class teaches proper food handling procedures to prevent foodborne illness.
Food service establishments in Ohio are required to have a “person-in-charge” working at all times who is knowledgeable of food-safety procedures. The Spanish-language class will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
English-language classes will be held Nov. 21 at 9 a.m. and Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. The single-day, three-hour classes are held at the health department, 635 N. Erie St., and cost $30.
