For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

Dogs killed

Dogs killed Aug. 19-20 under the direction of Richard Stewart, director of the Lucas County Canine Care & Control:

Breed and description; reason; intake type and date with location found if stray. Dogs killed for poor behavior on body-handling and resource-guarding assessments are scored on a scale of 5, with higher scores being more aggressive. Dog-aggression assessments are not scored:

“Pit bull”/boxer mix, tan and white female, unlicensed; bite history; surrendered Aug. 12 by Robert Johnson, Douglas Road, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” gray and white female, unlicensed; aggressive/unsafe; stray picked up by a control officer Aug. 15 at York Street, Toledo.

Rottweiler/German shepherd mix, black and brown male, unlicensed; veteran recommended euthanasia/quality of life (severely ill, lethargic, jaundice, large tumor at the end of the rib cage); surrendered Aug. 2 by Sara Pewett, Caledonia Street, Toledo.

Beagle mix, black and brown male; stray taken to shelter Aug. 8 by Valerie Meyer, Roycroft Drive, Holland, from Old State Line Road, Swanton.
