A Whitmer High School student was arrested Thursday after police found knives in his backpack.

The student got into an “electronic media disagreement” with his ex-girlfriend Thursday afternoon and asked who she was now seeing so that he could beat that person up, according to a Toledo police report. The student indicated he planned to kidnap the girl, the report said.

A school resource officer was contacted and spoke to the boy. The officer then found four large knives in his backpack, and the student was charged with several counts, according to police, including carrying a concealed weapon and a safe school violation.

The student’s age was not listed in the report.
