A Toledo man accused of causing a one-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of his passenger was indicted Monday by the Lucas County grand jury.

Bruce Ponce, 35, of Bowman Street was charged with two alternate counts of aggravated vehicular homicide. One count involves the consumption of alcohol, the other involves recklessness.

Tabatha Worthington, 35, of Barclay Driver was killed Jan. 21 in the crash that occurred at 10:24 a.m. on the Anthony Wayne Trail at Western Avenue. Police say Mr. Ponce was driving the car outbound on the trail when it went out of control and crashed into a traffic signal pole in the median. The pole penetrated the passenger side of the cabin.
