Police: victim in South Toledo double shooting has died

A man who was shot a week ago in his South Toledo home has died, according to Toledo police.

Investigators believe Steven Auxter, 35, was shot by 24-year-old Adam Beverly on Aug. 14 inside Mr. Auxter’s home on the 2800 block of Broadway.

Mr. Beverly then went outside and shot himself in front of the house, witnesses told police.

Both men were taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital. Mr. Beverly died of his injuries later that day.

Mr. Auxter remained in critical condition at the hospital. Police confirmed his death Tuesday morning.
