Inmates flee corrections site in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN Police were searching Saturday for two inmates who separately escaped the Northwest Community Corrections Center, authorities said.

Kyle Ridgeway, 20, failed to return to work after lunch at the landfill near U.S. 6. He has been missing since 2:45 p.m. and was last seen wearing gray jeans, tank top and gray shirt with brown boots.

John Gebrowsky, Jr., 21, jumped a fence at the facility about 8:45 p.m., and was last seen wearing a blue jogging suit with a Golden State Warriors basketball logo.

Two men answering the phone at the corrections center last night refused to disclose what crimes the inmates had committed. A spokesman told The Blade he was instructed by a supervisor not to answer questions from the news media about the escapes.

Mr. Gebrowsky is a nonviolent offender, Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn said. Details about his criminal offenses and residency at the corrections center were unavailable last night.

Anyone with information about the escapees can call Bowling Green police at 419-352-1131.

The Northwest Community Corrections Center at 1740 East Gypsy Lane is a residential facility that is an alternative to prison and serves Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Williams, and Wood counties. It is one of 18 such facilities in Ohio.
