The unsolved stabbing death of a Sylvania woman is one of the first cases featured on the Ohio Attorney General’s Web site in a program to solicit more tips to close cases.

Patricia Stichler, 30, was stabbed inside her Sylvania home. Her bloodied, mostly nude body was found on Jan. 2, 1985, by Ms. Stichler’s 11-year-old daughter. The girl and her two sisters were sleeping in the adjoining room during the attack, officials said.

Ms. Stichler hosted a New Year’s party, attended by about 20 people, the night before she was killed.

The unsolved cases — there are 5,153 unsolved homicides in Ohio according to the FBI — are online at http://wwwnew.ohioattorneygeneral.gov.

Tips can be submitted to the Web site, or to Sylvania police at 419-885-8902.
