Pavement patching will restrict southbound I-75 through Monroe to a single lane, starting today, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced.
Two of three lanes will be closed between the I-275 junction and the LaPlaisance Road interchange south of Monroe from 8 p.m. today until 6 a.m. Monday. Long delays are likely, especially during the afternoons.
The north half of the work was scheduled for last weekend, but was put off because of rain.
Single-lane closings will remain on southbound I-75 in the area at other times.
Additional double-lane closings are planned during coming weeks elsewhere on I-75 between I-275 and the Ohio-Michigan border. Patching concrete in the center lane requires closing two lanes at a time.
