Perrysburg City Council approved Miller Brothers Construction Inc. of Archbold, to do the Eckel Junction Road and State Rt. 25 improvements for $1.2 million.

The project will add four lanes to the intersection and lengthen five more. The estimated total cost was $2.25 million, with Costco paying $396,000 and Mercy Health System, which has an emergency medical clinic on the west side of State Rt. 25, paying about $350,000. There is no timetable set for construction, but it will likely start at the end of June or early July.

The city also purchased new traffic signals for the area of the roadwork and paid DGL Consulting Engineers of Maumee to oversee the project.
