President Trump returning to Ohio

COLUMBUS — Two weeks after stumping in Ohio in a critical congressional race, President Trump will be back.

He will headline the ticket-only Ohio Republican Party’s State Dinner on Aug. 24, party Chairman Jane Timken announced in an invitation to the party faithful. The dinner will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Prices range from $250 for an individual ticket to $10,000 for a table of 10 at the dinner plus tickets to the chairman’s VIP cocktail reception preceding the dinner.

Ohio has become a focal point of the midterm season with Mr. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence in the area recently to get out the vote in the 12th Congressional District special election held Aug. 7.

The final count has yet to be completed, but it appears the GOP candidate, state Sen. Troy Balderson (R., Zanesville), has narrowly defended the heavily Republican central Ohio district against a challenge from Democrat Danny O’Connor.

Mr. Pence was in the Toledo area on Tuesday to raise money for Jim Renacci, the Republican congressman challenging Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, and in Cincinnati to raise funds in the local congressional race there.
