Barack Obama will stop in Ohio to campaign for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Richard Cordray and his running mate Betty Sutton in Cleveland next Thursday.

A time and location for the rally have yet to be announced.

Pundits believe the race between Mr. Cordray and Republican Attorney General Mike DeWine is neck and neck two months from the Nov. 6 midterms.

“President Obama will discuss what is at stake for Ohioans in 2018, highlighting the need for Ohio’s next governor to expand economic opportunity to more Ohioans and protect their families’ access to quality, affordable health care,” according to a news release from Mr. Cordray’s campaign.

Besides Ohio, Mr. Obama — who will be joined here by others on Ohio’s Democratic ticket — announced a visit to stump for Democrats in Orange County, Calif.

Also on Sept. 13, Donald Trump, Jr., will headline fund-raisers for Mr. DeWine in Salem, Ohio, and for U.S. Senate candidate Jim Renacci in Columbus.
