BG women awarded 12th seed

BOWLING GREEN – The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team was awarded the 12th seed in the NCAA tournament Monday and will play Georgia Tech, the fifth-seed, on Saturday, March 19, in Columbus starting at 11 a.m.

The contest will be played at St. John Arena, Ohio State's former home court, as the Schottenstein Center will host the OHSAA girls state tournament title games that day.

The Falcons are 28-4 this season and earned their NCAA bid by virtue of winning the Mid-American Conference tournament title this past weekend.

Georgia Tech has a 23-10 record and advanced to the semifinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, losing to Duke.
