Top entries from across Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana are expected Friday night as the ARCA Allegiant Glass City Gold Cup Late Model Series invades Toledo Speedway. The Allegiant Gold Cup Series is a five-race circuit, with three events at Toledo Speedway and two at Flat Rock.

Dennis Strickland, who won the first Flat Rock race in the series on June 25, is expected to be challenged Friday night by Indiana native Scott Hantz, who has eight feature wins at Toledo Speedway over the past three seasons.

Also in the field will be defending Gold Cup champion Mike Root of Grand Rapids, Mich., who has yet to register a win at the half-mile Toledo Speedway oval. Root, who edged out Hantz by just five points to win last season's title, is trying to work his way up this year's standings following a poor showing at Flat Rock where he was involved in an accident.

Rookie Todd Perkins of Toledo, Steve Peters of Dundee and Nick Grodi of Oak Harbor are also expected to be in the Gold Cup field. Practice begins at 4:30 Friday afternoon, with time trials at 6:15 and racing starting at 7:30.
