UM coach: No decision yet on wide receiver Stonum
7/28/2011CHICAGO --- The status of suspended Michigan wide receiver Darryl Stonum is unchanged, Wolverines coach Brady Hoke said Thursday at the Big Ten Media Days.
Stonum was suspended from the program in May after he was arrested for his second drunken driving offense at Michigan. He was sentenced to two years of probation in June.
Stonum started 12 games as a junior, ranking second on the team in receptions (49) and receiving yards (633). Hoke indicated Stonum has more work to do before he is reinstated into the program. A timeline for his return has not been set.
"I wanted to wait and go all the way through the summer and see how he's handling some of the things he needs to do," Hoke said.
In other news, Hoke confirmed incoming freshman linebacker Kellen Jones is not a member of the program. Jones, of Houston, was a three-star recruit, per Rivals.com.
"He's just not enrolled in the school," Hoke said.
