Maumee defeats Napoleon in overtime 23-20

NAPOLEON — Austin Rine kicked a 19-yard field goal in overtime to lift the Panthers.

Both teams missed an extra-point kicks during regulation.

Maumee jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter after Brandon Phenix and Sean McGovern each scored a touchdown.

But Napoleon climbed back into with two TDs in the fourth quarter, including a one-yard touchdown run by Jacob Plassman to tie the score at 20 with 20 seconds remaining in the game. But the extra-point kick missed wide right.
