Westhoven, Righi help Tigers top Blue Streaks

ARCHBOLD -- In a back and forth contest, it was Liberty Center that delivered the final blow to close out a perfect regular season and an Northwest Ohio Athletic League outright championship last night.

Sean Westhoven led the Tigers (10-0, 8-0 NWOAL) with 146 rushing yards on 33 carries with a 16-yard TD run for the opening score. Anthony Righi added 112 yards on seven carries, including a 71-yard TD run. The duo connected for a 21-yard TD pass from Westhoven to Righi for what proved to be the game-winning score with 1:36 left in the third quarter.

Also scoring for LC, which last claimed a league title in 2001, were Josh Drain on a 13-yard run and Zach Niner on a 25-yard run.

T.J. Gerken found the end zone twice for Archbold (7-3, 5-3) on a 97-yard kickoff return and a 26-yard TD catch from Evan Wyse.

Gerken totaled 115 receiving yards on 10 catches, and Wyse was 34-of-50 passing for 415 yards with three touchdowns, including a 22-yard toss to Danny Young and a 15-yard pass to Jay Miller that put the Streaks ahead 22-21 at halftime.
