Makaila Marshall drilled five 3-pointers and totaled 19 points as the Southview girls basketball team had 12 players get in the scoring column as they rolled past Clay 88-27.

The Cougars blitzed the visiting Eagles in the first quarter, putting up 30 points, and eventually stretched the lead to 53-10 by the half.

In the second half, Southview coach Tim Nottke emptied his bench, providing extended playing time for most of the team.

“A lot of kids had a chance to play, and they all played well,” Nottke said. “It was good to get them all in the game. To Clay’s credit, they played hard the entire game. Coach [Kevin] Crosson is doing things right. They’ll be a force to be reckoned with in the future.”

Lexi Lopez had 18 points, while Bailey Hejl and Sarah Klepzig added 13 and 11 points, respectively, for Southview (6-4). Haley Kubicki paced Clay (0-11) with six points.
